Chainbreaker

 Let's ignore the anatomy fail, I lost to my arch-enemy one more time, okay? (Because I am too lazy to do things properly even when I see mistakes.) Sooo, after writing Annabel's profile I thought it shows her as if she was some emo-kid (not exactly, but you get what I mean... right?) but the whole point of the entire damn fanfic (aka. Blaze) is showing how she changes... Except, well, until I will finally write and publish it it's going to be ages. Like, I was fast enough to write a freaking NOVEL but I'm still stuck on Blaze chapter... 2? 3? Um, yeah. Okay, so for the people who do not believe I will ever finish Blaze (or who just don't want to wait), here's the explanation of the drawing (and really, better stop waiting and just read it. I know what I'm saying, I am the slowest writer ever) :

There is a self-harm scene in Blaze. Annabel, after doing something she truly regrets either cuts or scratches her left hand (she already has three scars there). Kai is the one to catch her doing it. I'm not sure yet how this scene actually goes, but Kai does two things - dresses Annabel's wound and talks to her. Now, I know Kai is not the most talkative type. But it was the most logical for me to make him the one to talk with Annabel. First - I do not believe it could be Takao or Max. Especially not Takao. It could be Rei, I seriously thought about it. But one more fact - Kai is the one from the Bladebreakers who wanted power instead of friendship BUT ended up rejecting the power and reuniting with the team. Obviously it is not the same as what happens to Annabel, yet it's similar enough. I think it would make them understand each other better. Also, Kai cares about his teammates. In his own weird way, but he does. Annabel does not try to befriend him, she doesn't do anything to make Kai like her on purpose (she doesn't do anything to make anyone like her, actually), she simply lets him be. But I don't think Kai would leave a person who has serious issues.
I don't know what exactly he tells her, I rewrote this scene at least three times already (even if I'm still far from approaching this part of the fanfic) and each time it was something different. But what he tells her makes Annabel slowly change and gives her strength to move forward in life. Besides, this is most likely the last time she self-harms ever.

Btw, it was a lot of fun to colour this one. A totally different work than what I usually do, but I really enjoyed it.
